Privacy Policy

Barrel ("the App") is a rental property management app developed for iOS. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how the App handles your data.

Authentication

Barrel uses Apple Sign-In as its sole authentication method. When you sign in, we receive only the information Apple provides (a unique user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address). We do not have access to your Apple ID password.

Data Storage

Data you enter into Barrel — including properties, units, tenants, contracts, and payments — is stored on secure cloud servers provided by Supabase, our infrastructure partner. Your data is:

• Encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS
• Isolated to your account — only you can access your data through authenticated requests
• Not shared with or sold to third parties

Data Collection

Barrel collects and stores only the data you explicitly enter into the App (properties, units, tenants, contracts, payments, and settings). Additionally:

• No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs are used
• No advertising identifiers or cookies are used
• No data is shared with advertisers or data brokers
• We do not track your location

Feature Suggestions

If you submit a feature suggestion through the App, we store the suggestion text along with your user identifier so we can follow up if needed. Submissions are voluntary.

Subscription and Payment Information

Barrel offers an auto-renewable annual subscription managed entirely through Apple's In-App Purchase system:

• Payment Processing: All payment transactions are handled by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.
• Subscription Data: Apple provides us with minimal information to verify your subscription status (active, trial, or expired), but we do not receive your personal or payment details.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Apple Sign-In — for authentication, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
• Supabase — for secure cloud data storage, governed by Supabase's Privacy Policy
• Apple App Store — for in-app purchases, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy

No advertising, analytics, or data-brokering services are used.

Notifications

Barrel may request permission to send push notifications for payment reminders and updates. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

Face ID / Touch ID

If you enable biometric authentication:

• Face ID and Touch ID authentication is handled entirely by iOS
• We do not store or have access to your biometric data
• This feature is optional and can be disabled in Settings

Data Deletion

You can delete your data in the following ways:

• Individual records: Delete properties, tenants, contracts, or payments directly within the App
• Full account deletion: Contact us at the email below to request complete deletion of your account and all associated data from our servers
• Deleting the App: Removes all locally cached data from your device, but your cloud data remains until you request deletion

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Barrel is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
